On 29 September, the steel cutting of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN)’s fifth and sixth Invincible-class submarines took place in Wismar, Germany. DSTA Chief Executive Roy Chan delivered an address where he highlighted the importance of agility and innovation as well as the collaborative effort between DSTA, the RSN, and the German partners to safeguard Singapore’s waters.
A tour of the Kiel shipyard showcased the significant progress of our submarine programme. The DSTA team has been actively exploring innovations to enhance the submarines, adapting swiftly to the ever-changing geopolitical and technological landscape. This progress is driven by multidisciplinary collaboration, with design reviews for the new boats already underway.
