Making Strides in Giving Back

22 Mar 2024
Following the success of our Walk for Rice campaign late last year – an initiative where DSTA staff were encouraged to go for walks or runs and had their steps converted into bags of rice for the Sunshine Welfare Action Mission – we were thrilled to visit the home with our rice donations and took the opportunity to bond with the residents.

On 22 March 2024, DSTA staff, alongside Deputy Chief Executive (Information) Gayle Chan, made their way to the home to engage with the residents. The visit provided an opportunity for fun and meaningful interactions with the residents.

During the visit to Sunshine Welfare Action Mission, the staff organised fun activities for the residents, including a lively bingo game and a sing-along session featuring some of the residents’ favourite tunes.

DSTA's Deputy Chief Executive (Information) Gayle Chan faciliated a game of bingo with the residents.

Data Scientist (Chief Information Officer Office) Clara Tay shared: "Engaging with the residents was a truly rewarding experience. Seeing the smiles on their faces, watching them have fun during the game and singing along to the songs they love – moments like these remind me of the importance of community and compassion.”

Our staff showcased their vocal prowess during the sing-along session.

Senior Engineer Anson Woo (Building & Infrastructure) expressed his joy at being a part of the initiative. “This was truly a unique experience filled with heart-warming shared moments with the residents, and a reaffirmation of our commitment to making a positive impact on the community.”
