The ‘Singapore 100 Women in Tech’, organised by the Singapore Computer Society in partnership with SG Women in Tech and Infocomm Media Development Authority, recognises and celebrates women based in Singapore who have been inspiring and made significant contributions to the tech industry. We’re proud to share that Director Simulations and Training Systems Yeoh Ee-Wen has clinched a spot on this year’s list, joining other previous recipients from DSTA!
Since 2020, Ee-Wen has led the Simulation and Training Systems Hub, delivering ground-breaking capabilities such as the integrated Armoured Fighting Vehicle and Type-218 submarine simulator suites. She also drove large-scale projects including the development of cutting-edge training capabilities in the expanded Shoalwater Bay Training Area and SAFTI City, a next-generation urban training facility featuring smart instrumentation and battlefield effects. These initiatives enhance SAF’s operational readiness while overcoming physical training constraints.
Ee-Wen’s journey with DSTA began in 2003 when she was awarded the DSTA Undergraduate Scholarship and she has grown to be a leader known for bringing out the best in people. Believing that innovation best happens when people collaborate, she established an innovation lab within her department to encourage rapid prototyping and experimentation with emerging and cost-effective technologies. Additionally, she also spearheaded the use of AI and psychophysiological measurement tools to drive adaptive learning and performance assessment. Her efforts to cultivate a culture of innovation have empowered teams to challenge the status quo and deliver practical, high-impact solutions.

That same spirit of bringing people and ideas together extended beyond her own teams. Most recently, she led the successful organisation of the Singapore Defence Technology Summit 2025 which attracted over 1,000 delegates from 40 countries, strengthening global defence tech partnerships.

Beyond defence transformation, Ee-Wen is passionate about nurturing tech talent in Singapore. She enjoys engaging with youth through BrainHack, DSTA’s annual student learning festival, where she championed Extended Reality (XR) outreach programmes and hackathons to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of innovators.
She shares: “For me, leadership is about inspiring a diverse group of people, fostering their growth and helping them discover their highest potential. Hearing young talents say that they have gained confidence and forged new skills through our programmes makes all the effort worthwhile.”
