What happens when you bring people, ideas, and a little CIEnergy together?
On 28 July 2026, DSTA staff came together for CIEnergy, an initiative reflecting our culture of Collaborate, Innovate and Elevate (CIE). Through a series of specially curated games and activities, staff were encouraged to partner one another, embrace new ideas and push beyond the conventional ways of working to achieve elevated outcomes.
At the heart of CIEnergy were activities designed to bring the principles to life. This included inviting staff to share their experiences and perspectives on working, innovating and growing together by weaving a thread through an interactive pop-up.
To inspire staff to think deeper about CIE, they were also able to participate in an Equation Experience, where they arranged words and mathematical symbols to form their own equations around shared purpose and fresh thinking.
At the Innovation Showcase, teams behind various projects set up booths to share the outcomes of their ideas and teamwork, and how these efforts have helped strengthen DSTA’s collective impact.
The fun didn’t stop there! At the game zone, staff engaged in various collaborative games where they worked together to achieve a common goal.
No event would be complete without photos! Staff took part in a photo challenge where they coordinated, communicated, collaborated and innovated through creative poses.
Beyond the activities, CIEnergy was a chance for colleagues to step away from their usual routines, connect with one another, and celebrate the people and ideas that make DSTA who we are.
