During the ceremony, DSTA Chief Executive Mervyn Tan emphasised the purpose of our work – which is to strengthen Singapore’s defence through tech – and motivated our scholars to make the most of their scholarships.

“With the scholarships, you have been given the opportunity to reach even greater heights. As you embark on your studies, I encourage you to think about how you can help Singapore overcome real-world security challenges and contribute to the defence of Singapore,” he said.

He was involved in a project related to Augmented Virtuality and Machine Learning.

“During my internship, I was involved in building a Virtual Reality simulation to improve one of RSN’s training programme. I had many learning opportunities, from being exposed to various technology, such as virtual reality and augmented reality, to working alongside other DSTA engineers. This allowed me to cultivate my competencies. Overall, I had a fruitful internship experience,” he said.
