As Head Course Development at DSTA Academy, Leonard develops curriculum for new courses and ensures the smooth delivery of DSTA Academy’s training programmes. He also delivers lectures in systems engineering and project management.
To make lessons more engaging and effective, he advocates the use of game-based learning approaches. He has attained the Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment, and believes in engaging participants in the co-creation of their learning experience.
Before joining DSTA Academy, Leonard managed the acquisition of instrumented training systems for the Singapore Armed Forces, and he has also developed and managed Command and Control systems. In addition, Leonard was one of the pioneer members involved in the development of DSTA’s Software Safety framework and processes, after which he led the team as Principal Engineer and was appointed a DSTA Lecturer in Software Safety.
He has also managed defence technology collaboration with DSTA’s partners, and delivered several lectures on the topic at DSTA’s milestone courses.
Leonard brings the insights gained from his diverse experiences to enrich the learning experience of participants in his courses.
