Giving back to the community takes many forms. For DSTA, this includes supporting the Community Chest through fundraising as well as using our skills and abilities to help social service agencies.
At this year’s Community Chest Awards, we received the Charity Gold Award, SGSHARE Certificate of Excellence, Volunteer Partner Award and Enabler Award.

Deputy Chief Executive (Operations) Loke Mun Kwong represented DSTA at the Community Chest Awards ceremony 2026.
The organisation received the Volunteer Partner and Enabler awards for the first time this year for DSTA’s Tech for Good initiative. Recognising that social service agencies for underserved communities face challenges that technology can help address, DSTA launched this volunteer-driven programme where our staff’s skills can be used to create positive change for communities in need.
The Tech for Good team, comprising volunteers with expertise across many disciplines, has been partnering the Asian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA) to develop technology-enabled solutions that address operational challenges faced by the social service sector. These solutions help the AWWA service providers to dedicate more time and attention to service delivery and beneficiary engagement through more streamlined operations, improved accessibility of information, and reduced administrative workload.

We received the Charity Gold Award and SGSHARE Certificate of Excellence in recognition of DSTA’s philanthropy efforts, with contributions to the Community Chest through fundraising initiatives such as our National Day Observance Ceremony and DSTAppreciation Week.

Together, these efforts reflect the many ways DSTA’s people contribute to the community, alongside their work to strengthen Singapore’s defence capabilities.
