Mobile devices and apps are enablers for innovative enterprise functions, as well as military operations. As mobile malware becomes more rampant and sophisticated, DSTA developed a secure mobility suite to enhance the security of mobile devices.

The end-to-end solution comprises in-house developed sensors. Deployed on mobile devices and artificial intelligence-enabled engines, the sensors can detect anomalous behaviour on phones with different configurations. The sensors also collect data and send it to the back-end server for further sense-making and analysis.

To further secure the devices against cyberattacks, the team applied generative adversarial networks that would create scenarios to test the resilience of the AI model developed. This continuous development effort ensures that the secure mobility suite is always up to date. The team also designed the secure mobility suite based on a modular architecture such that best-of-breed technologies can be integrated easily into the suite when required.
