The Young Defence Scientists Programme
The Young Defence Scientists Programme (YDSP) is an initiative managed by
the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and its key partner,
DSO National Laboratories (DSO), to promote greater interest in defence
science and technology amongst students in both secondary schools and
junior colleges.
Established in 1992, the YDSP provides the students with invaluable
insights into the challenging work being done in the Defence Technology
Community*, thus promoting the significance of defence science and
technology.
To spur the interest of students from various age groups, DSTA together
with DSO National Laboratories regularly organise a wide spectrum of
activities and programmes for these students.
With the support of our research scientists and practising
professionals in the programme, YDSP presents an exciting and wonderful
educational opportunity and experience for the students.
* The Defence Technology Community encompasses DSTA, DSO, the
logistics set-up of the Singapore Armed Forces, the technology
component of MINDEF and Singapore Technologies Engineering.
