Finalists
Out of the nine teams that participated in the Qualifying Round held on Tuesday 27 May 2008 at the Singapore Expo, six teams have emerged as the finalists of the TechX Challenge. The finals will be held on Sunday 21 September 2008 at the Republic Polytechnic. ( View event details )

SP-Freiburg comprises academic staff and students from Singapore Polytechnic and University of Freiburg. The team finds the TechX Challenge interesting as it incorporates a lot of difficult tasks such as stairs climbing and elevator manipulation. The team is also intrigued by the idea of developing an autonomous robot that should run without any human intervention.

X-1 comprises members with diverse backgrounds including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, control engineering, and artificial intelligence. The team feels that the TechX Challenge is a wonderful opportunity for people from different disciplines to work together to solve significant technical and scientific problems as well as overcome systems engineering challenges.

AZROBOWAR comprises friends who have a strong passion in Robotics. Being a self-funded team, the members leveraged their creativity to develop a robot with a limited budget and built the base platform from scratch. They dedicated their weekday nights and weekends to develop a robot to participate in the TechX Challenge.

FantasticFour consists of professors and postgraduate students from Nanyang Technological University's School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Apart from Singapore, there are also members from Britain, China, Germany and Sri Lanka. The team views the TechX Challenge as an excellent opportunity to integrate their technical know-how and brings them to the next level of development in their research activities.

The TP Robotics Team comprises staff members and students from Temasek Polytechnic's School of Engineering. Through the participation in TechX Challenge, TP Robotics Team hopes to further strengthen their capability in the field of robotics, particularly in real-life applications. They would also like to take the opportunity to learn from other participants.

Evolution's team members come from Nanyang Technological University's School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and School of Computer Engineering. The team sees the TechX Challenge as a test of their knowledge, engineering skills and team spirit. The team aspires to demonstrate that their work is practical and adaptable to real-life situations.

Qualifying Round Participants
The Qualifying Round was held on Tuesday 27 May 2008 at the Singapore Expo. Participants are required to go through a series of tests - the E-Stop and Braking Test, Stairs Climbing Test, Elevator Operation Test as well as Obstacle Avoidance Test - to determine their eligibility to compete in the finals.
