Request for NSN Assignment
DSTA's Singapore Armed Forces Cataloguing Authority is the National Codification Bureau in Singapore. Its primary role is to catalogue products produced by Singapore companies for defence and government use, in accordance with the NATO Codification System (NCS).
The NCS is the NATO method of cataloguing items, which include assigning National Stock Numbers (NSNs) and capturing information needed throughout the supply chain. These NSNs are used by more than 50 countries that participate in the NCS. The countries include NATO countries, Australia and New Zealand.
A NSN is a 13-digit stock number that identifies an item in the NCS. This number is widely recognised and used worldwide.
