Engaging the wider community of engineers and technologists

A team of five robotoics enthusiasts participated in the inaugural TechX Challenge organised by the Defence Science and Technology Agency. They are one of the nine teams that took part in the TechX Challenge Qualifying Round in May 2008.

TechX Challenge Qualifying Round

The TechX Challenge attracted active participation from local and overseas educational institutions, robotics enthusiasts as well as representatives from commercial companies. Nine teams went through a series of tests at the Qualifying Round to determine their eligibility to compete in the final event.

DSTA seeks innovative robots through the TechX Challenge

Twenty-eight teams will be pitting their skills against one another to build an autonomous robot that can be effectively employed in an urban warfare situation. Organised by DSTA, the inaugural competition will require the robots to navigate independently, negotiate stairs, operate an elevator as well as detect and engage targets.

Strengthening the foundation, Stretching the boundary
