DSTA, together with the SAF, developed the the Infantry Gunnery and Tactical Simulator which is designed to hone the skills of gunners and maximise training time. The latest addition will allow soldiers to familiarise themselves with a range of weapons before heading for live-firing exercises.

28 May 2008 TechX Challenge Qualifying Round

26 May 2008 A three-tiered stage for NDP 08

DSTA worked with the Army on the use of submarine cables to provide a stable source of electrical supply to Pulau Tekong. In addition to increasing the communication bandwidth capacities and providing a more resilient transmission infrastructure, a cost savings of $8mil was achieved in two years.

19 Mar 2008 DSTA collaborates with IES to advance systems engineering

DSTA and the Institution of Engineers, Singapore signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish the Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) programme at the inaugural IES Systems Engineering Seminar. With the CSEP programme in place, systems engineering professionals can look forward to attaining professional credentials which will be widely recognised in the industry.

10 Mar 2008 DSTA breaks new grounds with the Underground Ammunition Facility

DSTA, together with the Singapore Armed Forces and SembCorp Design & Construction, form the project team behind the Underground Ammunition Facility (UAF) which was officially commissioned on 7 Mar 2008. The engineering feat, which took more than 10 years to complete, is the first large-scale underground facility to be designed and built within a highly urbanised area.
